An aficionado catches a 60 pound conger eel from industrial dock El Musel
Gijón native José Ramón Fernández, fishing aficionado "since I was born", managed a spectacular catch last week while he was fishing for squid at the industrial dock Rendiello, in El Musel: a 60-pound conger eel.A 50-minute struggle was necessary to get the fish out of the water around 8:50pm, as well as the collaboration of another person who, from a boat, aided the fisherman in lifting the animal by using a hook.
The conger eel, as it has already been stated, weighed 60 pounds, but other measurements were not less notable. It had a length of close to 7 feet and a diameter of 22.5 inches.
José Ramón Fernández told this newspaper that already in another occasion he caught a 40-pound conger eel, but that time he was on a boat and the weight difference was very noticeable.
José Ramón Fernández, whose previous heroic actions include giving me life and surviving the consequences, will, from now on, hold the official title "Sandokan of the Seas" (cultural reference too obscure to explain)
WoW! Conger eels are mean m****f***ers too.
You got one brave dad.
